Biography

Scott Zimmerman, better known as DJ Zimmo, was born in Birmingham, England in 1975. From his humble beginnings listening to his first ever house mix tape, back in '89, he knew from that moment on where his passion lay.

After acquiring his first set of turntables, aged 18, it wasn't long before he mastered the art of beat matching, paving the way to play his first gig. This progressed to him having successful residences at Sundissential, The Institute & Marco Polo Bar in his home town of Birmingham.

Zimmo has performed on numerous occasions at various venues throughout the UK. His national acclaim recently saw him headline an International event in Maastricht, Holland, with further events already booked for 2011.

Given the meteorical rise of the Internet, logical progression enabled him to move forward into creating his very own podcast, so he could reach a much wider, global audience. He's also now become one of the top 100 house music podcasters in the world. His "Funky Vocal House Sessions" on itunes has recently achieved over 300,000 downloads and currently has 60,000 subscribers in the last year alone.

The direct success of this was attaining his own 2 hour show, "The Impression Session", broadcasting globally every Saturday, on Pure Radio, which aired weekly for over 12 months. He also regularly guests on various radio stations around the world, with his most recent being, Radio Metro FM across the Gold Coast of Australia.

The amalgamating factor throughout his career has been his dedicated passion for the music. Ultimately leading him to now start producing his very own funky house tracks. Zimmo has prided himself, always, on his unrequited love of the original disco sound, which emanates thoughout his selection.

DJ Zimmo is fast becoming one of the most recognised, uplifting, funky house dj's emerging from the UK.
